Mom is writing today. Our sweet Butterfly 🦋 had to be helped to go to the Rainbow Bridge this morning.
Peekaboo is mourning the loss of her big sister, Butterfly. She’s been looking for Butterfly 🦋 all day, and we are all grieving the loss of our sweet (at times grumpy) girl. It’s been a quiet day for us trying to come to terms with the loss.
We will post again when we are better able to express our feelings.

ReplyDeleteOh no! I'm here to pay my respects to Butterfly. *bows head* What happened to Butterfly to make her fly away?
ReplyDeleteOh CK, she was doing so well for her age, or so it seemed. Long story short, Butterfly 🦋 started losing weight in early December, and although she was pretty active, I’d noticed that to move around in bed, seemed like she might be in some sort of discomfort. i thought it was arthritis. Finally, I took her to the vet on Sunday thinking it might be her kidneys and that we’d come home with meds and new food. Turned out she had cancer over 80% of her body and peritonitis in her abdomen. The vet said she was in pain and no matter what I tried, it was too advanced. Breaks my heart as she was so alert. I’m so sad. I am thinking of getting an insurance for Peekaboo as vets are making a killing. I can’t wrap my head about this. Thank you as always. ❣️
ReplyDeleteOh awnty Tessie, we had no idea!!! We are so very sorry fur your loss. We will miss sweet and sometimes grumpy Butterfly very much. I's sending lots of nose bumps to you Peek-A-Bpp. I's know how lost you feel right now. Purrlease, ifin you need anything, just to talk or cry or whatever, reach out. Mommy says she's there fur you and so am I. We're sending lots of hugs and purrayers fur all.

I'm very sorry to read this. I didn't know Butterfly but her loss, especially at this time of year, must be keenly felt. I am glad, however, that Butterfly had such a family in which to love and live; for a cat, there is no substitute for affection, security and comfort. Godspeed, Butterfly.
